Born in Gauteng , South Africa on 6th December 1978, Graham has always loved art and his talent showed from an early age. Despite this, Graham only attended a few art classes and did not pursue art as a matriculation subject.
By age 15 it was apparent that he was a highly gifted artist with a prodigious talent and at 16 he exhibited works for the first time with several well-known artists. Here he sold his first painting, making a turning point for Graham.
A passion for wild places saw Graham getting involved in nature conservation and his insightful paintings of wildlife, landscapes and birds reflect this.
At 17 he was commissioned by the Southern Sun Group to do montages for Zululand Tree Lodge and Tau Game Lodge. During his last two years at school, Graham juggled a combination of schoolwork, exhibitions and private commissions.
Whilst writing his finals, he was appointed by a sports company to do a painting of the Rothman's July Handicap Centenary - by sheer dedication, and very little sleep, Graham managed to pass his exams and produce a magnificent painting!
Along with all this, Graham gave countless motivational and conservation education talks to schools and ran a birding club.
He was awarded the Rotary Youth Award for his contribution to the Natal Community - one of only 3 students to be conferred with this prestigious award. Graham's contribution was in the field of conservation.
Graham now works full time as a wildlife artist - working mainly on private and corporate commissions for the local and international market. He has a studio in Benoni, South Africa, where his work is on show, to view by appointment.
Many of his paintings have been bought by foreign visitors and are now in the UK, America and Europe. Having worked as a game ranger, Graham spends as much spare time as he can in the bush taking his own photographic reference. He is also an avid bird watcher and practices the martial arts of Kung Fu and Tai Chi, at which he excels.
He has appeared on various TV shows, including M.Net's KTV, SABC 3 - The Breakfast Club, SABC 1 - The Blue Couch and The Tony Sanderson Show, as well as being interviewed on Radio 702.
Graham donates paintings each year to various charities - these have included Falcon Animal Rights Organization, De Wildt Cheetah Sanctuary, The Children's Variety Club, The Starfish Foundation, The Women in Need Foundation and the SPCA.
The high standard and style of Graham's work can be seen from the paintings shown. The majority of these have been sold - however you can commission something similar. Graham will also work from your own special photograph, if the quality is good.
